Transient facility to rise in Camp Abendan

THE Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula is building a two-story edifice to serve as office and transient house for officers visiting Camp Abendan, which houses the regional headquarters in Zamboanga City.

Specifically, the edifice is for police officers who are alumni of the Philippines National Police Academy (PNPA), who are also known as Lakans; Association of Police Office Via Lateral Entry (Apole); and, other commissioned officers.

Police Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, on Friday, January 10, led the groundbreaking ceremony, signaling the start of the construct of the two-storey building.

The facility is is located near the Regional Service Training Unit inside Camp Abendan in the village of Mercedes, this city.

Quidilla said putting up useful infrastructure inside police camps is a priority of his administration.

“We are grateful and thankful to the Regional Director (General Quidilla) for this project, surely a milestone to PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula and all the officers” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Haywien Salvado, regional president of Lakans.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Edwin Verzon, regional president of Apole, shared similar thoughts as that of Salvado citing it will be of big help to them.

“The building will be transformative but more significantly, it expands PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula to serve the growing community of Lakans and Apole,” Quidilla said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
