P60,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay 27

AN ESTIMATED P60,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 4 at Purok Cheresa 2, Barangay 27, Bacolod City Monday, January 13.

The operation led to the arrest of Hernan De Asis, 38, of Barangay 27.

Police Major Reynante Jomocan, chief of Police Station 4, said De Asis was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at about 12:15 a.m.

Police recovered from De Asis’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, coin purse, P400, and drug paraphernalia.

Jomocan said the suspect was identified as high value target in Bacolod City and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Cereza, Barangay 3, Bacolod City yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as Brydon Geocadin, 30, of Barangay Mansilingan.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspect was arrested for stealing the bag of Madelon Ninguna, 24, of Barangay 4, containing wallet worth P15,000, cellular phone, watch, and ATM cards.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2 and facing theft charges.
