PEO given 15 days to submit list of delayed projects

THE Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) has 15 days to submit the list of delayed projects and the names of the contractors.

Lawyer Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said that Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa has informed him that they are almost complete with their report and that they will submit it as soon as it is finished.

Diaz pointed out that one of the reasons they want to hasten the completion of the major capitol projects was because they want some of the capitol offices be transfer to some buildings like the Provincial Multi-Purpose Building located beside the NBI Bacolod Office.

It can be recalled that a portion of the wall of the Multi-Purpose Building collapsed last year that resulted to the injury of one person.

Some of the capitol offices located at the Provincial Administration Center have also transferred to different locations to give way to the demolition of the dilapidated building and the construction of a new one by Dynamic Builders Inc. that won the project.

Dynamic Builders has also won the bidding for the construction of another new PAC Building at the back area of the old PAC.

Diaz said that the demolition of the old PAC will proceed once the Provincial Veterinary Office vacates the building.

Some of the affected offices have already transferred to private properties being rented by the province. That’s why to save from the rentals, Diaz said, they would want to bring those offices to the buildings or properties that are owned by the province.

Acting Governor Jeffrey Ferrer meanwhile said that he will ask Mapa to furnish him the copy of his report so that they would be aware of the status of those projects and for the perusal of the board members.
