THE University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball runners-up University of Santo Tomas (UST) will be looking to bolster their roster with talent from the south as it holds tryouts for both its high school and collegiate teams on January 25, 2020, at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.

There will be two sessions on that day. One will be at 7 a.m. and another at 3 p.m. The tryouts will be presided over by the Growling Tigers’ head coach himself, Aldin Ayo. He will be joined by assistant coach, McJour Luib and strength and conditioning coach, Cebuano Joph Cleopas.

The Growling Tigers made it all the way to the finals of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament last season but couldn’t make it past the mighty Ateneo Blue Eagles. They are looking to add some more weapons to its core composed of Rhenz Abando and reigning UAAP MVP Soulemane Chabi Yo.

UST also has a couple of Cebuanos on its team — former University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguar Dave Ando, who is on the collegiate squad, and ex-University of Southern Philippines Foundation Baby Panther Rojan Montemayor, who is playing for the high school team.
