The Barangay Ginebra Kings inched closer to capturing the PBA Governors’ Cup crown after they routed the Meralco Bolts, 94-72, in Game Four of the finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

At the tip of Ginebra’s attack was import Justin Brownless who filled up the stat-sheet with 27 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, five steals and four blocked shots. The Kings will be trying to finish off the Bolts in Game Five on Friday, January 17.

Brownlee was especially lethal in the second period where he scored 11 in a pivotal 17-4 surge that shoved Ginebra ahead, 33-20. The Kings kept on coming in the third as a triple by veteran guard LA Tenorio gave Ginebra its largest lead of the game, 61-42.

Helping Brownlee out was Stanley Pringle who scored 21 points and hauled down seven rebounds. Scottie Thompson also had his best game of the series, tallying 16 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.

Allen Durham, who was adjudged as the Best Import of the conference, scored 21 points and pulled down a whopping 27 rebounds. However, it was not enough to help Meralco tie the series up as most of his teammates shot blanks in Game Four.

In all, the Bolts shot a measly 37% from the floor including a putrid 3-of-26 clip from beyond the arc.
