SOME 5,000 grandstand tickets for the Sinulog competition on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, remain unsold four days before the grand parade.
This was what Aya Lim, marketing officer of Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI), said in an interview on Wednesday morning.
According to Lim, the SFI started selling the tickets last Friday, Jan. 10 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) and online. She said more than 600 tickets were sold on Wednesday.
The ticket price depends on the seats. The tickets for the blue seats are the most expensive with each priced at P2,500. The blue seats are near the seats of the sponsors and guests of the Cebu City Government.
Each ticket for the yellow seats is priced at P1,500, while tickets for the green and pink seats are sold at P1,000 each.
The tickets for the Sinulog 2020 are QR-coded wristbands. These will be scanned at the CCSC entrance to determine if the ticket is fake through a security code, said Lim.
Lim said they would still sell the unsold tickets at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
In another development, the Cebu City Government will deploy compactor trucks where the contingents can throw their garbage.
Councilor Dave Tumulak, chairman of the SFI executive committee, said they decided to deploy these vehicles so the grand parade route and the CCSC would be free of litter. (Mae Fhel Gom-os, Usj-r Journalism Intern )
