AS A regular visitor to coffee shops, I observe a lot of different approaches to the customer experience. Some are far more practical than others—? but a coffee experience will always make me come back to a good coffee place. Something that Davaoeños can truly relate with. That experience was memorable because when I visited that coffee shop on what had been a particularly rough day to pass the time after a big event.
When the barista asked me how I was doing, I simply told him it had been a rough day and wished I could press a restart button. She empathized and apologized. I smiled. After fulfilling my order, I sat down at a table to pop open my laptop. No more than five minutes later, she approached me and brought me a smiley face latte. I forgot who she was, but I will never forget the name of the coffee shop, it was Bo’s Coffee. That's pretty great customer service, right? This happened years ago, and it still resonates with me today.
That was what I was looking for, the moment they opened their newest branch in Davao City I was surprised that the same intensity and level of customer service is still there. It is located at The Compound, Carlos Luis Villa Abrille Rd., formerly Juna Subdivision Davao City, Bo’s Coffee blends is well with the corporate nature of its environment.
Apart from a selection of good standard coffees and unique coffee offerings, the latest branch is distinctive for its wood and earth colors.
The Bo’s Coffee experience in Davao can be seen as an end-to-end venture, starting with the coffee farmers of Mount Apo, and serving world-class Philippine coffee to metropolitan Davao with two branches in Davao City. Newcomers to Bo’s Coffee would not only feel the difference when they come in but also understand how it differentiates itself from foreign brands with every cup of coffee.
As expected, the espresso is strong and full-bodied, but not astringent. At a certain temperature, when it cools down enough, it can be taken in a gulp or two, in a business-like manner, straight and pure.
The coffee shop revels in the nature of the city. The pin lights pointing down on the paintings hanging from the walls, as well as the relief standing out on the corner, there is no mistaking that this is a Davao. This new branch is owned and managed by Samantha Liu and promises to live up, if not surpass, the brand of service and user experience Bo’s coffee is known for.
A native of Dumaguete City she has been a Bo’s Coffee franchisee for almost ten years with two other branches in her hometown. She moved to Davao after marrying a Davaoeño in 2016 and has embraced the city and its people bringing with her the return of Bo’s to the city. She hopes Davao will receive the newest Bo’s Coffee branch with the same welcoming arms as it did her when she first relocated to the land of promise.
