4 persons of interest in Bago rape case undergo DNA test

FOUR persons of interests in the rape and murder of 14-year-old Jemeiah Rose Oliveros in Bago City have voluntarily agreed to undergo DNA testing.

Bago City police chief, Police Major John Joel Batusbatusan, said the four individuals submitted themselves for testing, wherein they also underwent blood swabbing to see if any of the bloodstain found at the crime scene will match.

Batusbatusan said they are now waiting for the results which have been submitted to the crime laboratory.

Three witnesses have also surfaced and have submitted their affidavits to police, while the city's police force has organized a Special Investigation Task Group to monitor the case.

Earlier this month, Oliveros’ remains were discovered in Hacienda Phoenix.

Based on initial investigation, the victim was told to visit the home of Jessie Buenabeles to retrieve her father’s mobile phone on New Year’s Day but she failed to return home.
