High value drug target yields P800-K 'shabu’

DUMAGUETE CITY – A high-value target (HVT) in the government's anti-illegal drugs campaign in Central Visayas was arrested with more than P800,000 worth of suspected metamphetamine hydrochloride known as shabu during a joint operation Wednesday night, January 15 in Barangay Candau-ay.

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) identified the suspect as Kirstie Sinco Amigo, alias "Madam", 28, and currently residing at Agapeps Apartment in the said village.

She was arrested around 7:40 p.m. during the service of a search warrant by a joint team of operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Branch/Special Operations Group, the Maritime Police, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Oriental, and the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO).

Recovered from the suspect's possession were five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a paper pack, pouch, and one piece of pre-cut tin foil.

The suspected shabu was estimated to weigh 120 grams with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P816,000.

Amigo is tagged by the police as the Top 7 HVT at the regional level.

Meanwhile, police arrested a man who yielded shabu and a firearm with ammunition during a checkpoint in Barangay Inalad, Siaton, Negros Oriental at around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect was identified as Allan Enquig Santos, 37, of Barangay Cantil-e.

He was first arrested allegedly for “disobedience” during a checkpoint, and a subsequent search yielded several sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P15,640.

Also recovered from him were a caliber.45 firearm and six rounds of live ammunition. (PNA)
