NPC polls set: Daily Guardian journalists vie for presidency

THE Negros Press Club election will be held on January 18 with more of less a hundred members to cast their votes.

With this election, the present leadership will be out and by March 1 the new ones will assume the post.

The race for the presidency appears quite exciting again after a slight respite. This excitement makes the club election colorful.

President Chrysee Samillano and her team will be reporting Saturday, January 18 on what they have accomplished during their term.

Daily Guardian's seasoned journalist Maria Dolores “Dolly” Yasa and budding journalist Glazyl Y. Masculino are vying for the club presidency.

For team Masculino, other candidates for the various positions are Shiela Gelera ,(Visayan Daily Star) for vice president; Erwin Nicavera, (SunStar) for secretary; Merlinda Pedrosa, Sunstar, for treasurer; and Elsie Jolingan, Negros Daily Bulletin, for auditor.

For board of directors, Nona Magbanua, Aksyon Radyo; Yves Montecillo, RMN; Eden Aboso, Aksyon Radyo; Rey Siason, 104.7 Muews Radyo; Dorel Cabatu, Aksyon Radyo; Max Macahilo, Negros Weekly; John Dale Salazar, Aksyon Radyo; Jemlo Victosa, RMN and Nanette Guadalquiver, Philippine News Agency.

For the Change Now candidates, Yasa’s candidate for vice president is Manny Canto, Watchmen Daily Journal; Racquel Gariando, for secretary, Grace Supe, RMN for treasurer and Henceboy Cestina, for auditor.

For board of directors, Boy Ciocon, Ram Radio; Jun Gaton; GMA One Western Visayas correspondent and Pasiplat FM; Babes Gantalao, Bandera Sweet FM; Yves Montecillo, RMN and Rey Siason, 104.7 Mues Radio. Prior to the club election is the conduct of a club assembly.
