Sinulog bowling dangles P.5M

NATIONAL team bowlers and club players will be in town for the Association of Cebu Bowlers Inc. (ACBI) Sinulog National Open 2020 on Jan. 20 to 27 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad, Cebu City.

Leading the visiting campaigners is defending champion and national team member Kenneth Chua of Tenpin Bowlers Association of Makita (TBAM). Chua competed in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games a month ago.

Adding spice to the week-long event are Asian Youth champion Merwin Tan, Alexis Sy, Kenzo Umali, Kevin Cu and some other members of the PH national pool.

“There will be about 60 players from out-of-town. Overall, we’re looking to gather more than 100 bowlers for our 21st year,” said ACBI president Bel Suelto Jr. “The tournament’s objective is to attract the country’s top players and all ardent bowlers.”

The clubs that will be represented are Team Prima Pasta, Sugarbowl Tenpin Association Inc. of Bacolod, TBAMm Metro Davao Bowling Association, Summer Capital Tenpin Bowling Association of Baguio City, Pasig Bowling Association, Magallanes Bowling Association, United Southern Bowling Association of Alabang, PH Youth team, Philippine Senior Bowlers and the ACBI members.

The event will have the categories of Mixed Open, Mixed Seniors, Mixed Classified, Men’s Seniors Classified, Ladies Seniors Classified and the Mixed Youth. A total of P560,000 in cash prizes will be divided by the winners in all categories.

The Mixed Open champion will get P60,000, Mixed Seniors (P50,000), Mixed Classified (P50,000), Men’s Seniors Classified (P40,000), Ladies Seniors Classified (P30,000) and Mixed Youth (P20,000). (RSC)
