Procession won’t pass Gen. Maxilom, Imus

THE Sto. Niño foot procession on Saturday, will not pass Gen. Maxilom Ave. and Imus St., the route that some devotees got used to in the past few years.

The procession will start at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, from the Pilgrim Center in the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño de Cebu.

From the basilica, the procession will go through D. Jakosalem St. (corner Gaisano Metro) then turn right to Magallanes St. (corner Gaisano South), proceed to Borromeo St., then straight to Leon Kilat St. (e-Mall).

Then, it crosses to J. Alcantara St. (Private/Urgello Road), right to V. Rama Ave. en route to B. Rodriguez St. then to Fuente Osmeña Circle.

From Fuente circle, the foot procession continues to Osmeña Blvd. then left to P. Del Rosario St. (Sto. Rosario Church), right to Junquera St. (corner University of San Carlos main campus), then left to Colon St. (corner Super Metro Colon/Cebu Business Hotel) and then right to Mabini Street to go back to the basilica via P. Burgos St., passing the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.

The entire procession is expected to last six hours.

Parking is not allowed along the route. Fireworks are banned. Participants are urged to dispose of their garbage properly. (RGT)
