Bago College among top performing schools in Criminologist board exam

BAGO City College, a higher education institution (HEI), owned and operated by the City Government of Bago ranked fifth in the Licensure Examination School Performance of the recently released result of the Professional Regulatory Board (PRC) for the Criminology Licensure Examination held last November 2019.

The school had a 46.47 percent passing rate which is above the 44.11 percent total national rate. A total of 171 Criminology graduates passed out of the 368 examination takers.

Bago City College Administrator Dr. Gorgonio T. Parroco said that out of the 171 passers, 138 are first takers and 33 are repeaters. He added that considering the total of 231 first time takers, 59.74 percent passed while 24.09 percent of the repeaters passed from the total of 104.

Dr. Parroco added that Bago City College has the highest passing percentage compared to other government schools in Negros Occidental offering Bachelor of Science in Criminology.

Criminology Department Head Alain S. Acuña said that the high passing rate is due to the continuing enhancement of the academic standards of the department. He pointed out that the inclusion of the refresher course in the senior year curriculum is one of the innovations that he and Dr. Parroco had made in the design of the curriculum. (PR)
