Church, police, military hold forum for peace

THE Roman Catholic Church in Negros headed by Bishop Gerry Alminaza, Diocese of San Carlos together with the Army Battalion Commanders under the leadership of 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander, Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte held a forum to start the year towards a peaceful Negros.

Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office Director, Police Colonel Julian Entoma also attended the third Regular Meeting of Church Military and Police Forum Negros (CMPFN) on January 16, 2020 held at the Bishop’s Home, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The three institutions came together in peace, and talked about the different issues and concerns of the communities.

It can be recalled that the CMPFN was launched last August 26, 2019 as the replacement of the Church Military and Police Advisory Group – Negros (CMPAG-N).

The said initiative was pushed to ensure a transparent and open line of communication, to strengthen the relationships among the 4 Roman Catholic Dioceses, military and police, as well as to find solutions to the problems of insurgency, drugs and criminality.
