P34-K ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P34,000 worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City Thursday evening, January 16.

The operations led to the arrest of Frankie Rata, 46, of Alunan Relocation Site, Barangay Granada; and Reymund Ehim, 33, of Barangay 3; Armando Mostoles, 54, of Barangay 2; and Ricky Vargas, 30, of Barangay Sum-ag.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BPCO, said Rata, who was identified as street level target, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 5 after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at Montelibano Road, Barangay Granada at about 10:20 p.m.

Police recovered from Rata’s possession four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P12,000, and the P200 marked money.

Ehim, a street level target, along with his companions Mostoles and Vargas were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 at Purok Tilapia, Barangay 3 at about 11:30 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 28 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P22,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2 and 5 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
