Business One Stop Shop operation ends January 20

THE Business One Stop Shop (Boss), the streamlined system for business permits registration and renewal, culminates its operation Monday, January 20, coinciding with the deadline of payment of taxes.

Benjie Barredo, Business Permits and Licensing Division chief, said no extension will be provided and late applications for permit renewals will have a fine of 25 percent, plus two percent on monthly payables.

Barredo said unpaid assessments as of January 20 will be given only until Wednesday, January 22, to pay without penalties.

He said the City Treasurer's Office cashiers will accept payments until 10 p.m. of January 20.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) cashiers will accept payments only until 8 p.m. and those who will pay from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. shall have to return the following day to pay for BFP fees and claim their permits.

The Boss has been in operation since January 2, the first working day for the year 2020.

It has been open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and during Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The streamlined system of the Boss, which puts all government agencies involved in the renewal and registration of all kinds of business permits and licenses in one venue, is a strategy of the local government in line with the Ease of Doing Business policy. (SunStar Zamboanga)
