Cervantes: The Warning, centuries ago

MANY people watch Sid Roth’s “It’s Supernatural” on YouTube. For Mr. Roth, the afterlife is full of life. He lures viewers through many guests who had clinically died but, on the other side, were asked to return to their bodies to give witness to reality beyond the grave, among other missions.

In one of his shows which I accidentally clicked on, however, his guest was a protestant who said he had received a message from Heaven. And the message was all about an impending second Pentecost, the descent of the Holy Spirit, this time not only on selected modern-day apostles, but on the whole world.

Why, even outside the Catholic Church, there is now an increasing number of supernatural events relaying what’s coming: the Warning. No doubt, Mr. Roth’s guest was talking about the Warning also revealed by the Blessed Mother in her apparitions in Garabandal, Spain from 1961 to 1965.

While the Warning’s coming in our times is hinted by the so many apparitions not only by the Blessed Mother but also by her Son, Our Lord Jesus, all over the world in our times, it was also prophesied by others many years ago.

For example, St. Edmund Campion (1540-1581), the brilliant Jesuit priest and martyr from London, had said: “I pronounced a great day, not wherein any temporal potentate should minister, but wherein the Terrible Judge should reveal all men’s consciences and try every man of each kind of religion. This is the day of change.”

Centuries later, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi (1769-1837) talked about the Warning thus: “A great purification will come upon the world preceded by an Illumination of Conscience in which everyone will see themselves as God sees them.”

Then came St. Pope Pius IX (1792-1878) telling us this: “Since the whole world is against God and His Church, it is evident that He has reserved the victory over His enemies to Himself... all will be forced to look to the supernatural... There will come a great wonder, which will fill the world with astonishment.”

A century later, another pope, now also a saint, Paul VI said: “The maturity of conscience, most difficult to evaluate today, is the discernment between evil and good. Humanity has performed so many evil deeds that its conscience is now darkened by sin. We will need a terrible warning, and many will refuse to listen—a terrible warning. Most people will not heed it, but it will be essential to replace the moral order. Many have lived using their freedom for everykind of pleasure, and they are under the gaze of our God; but this judgment will be direct—at the same time, with His tenderness—and they will be forced to recognize their sin and to separate their sin from their goodness. This time, the sins of the world will be revealed.”

In Garabandal, visionary Jacinta Gonzales revealed in an interview some insights that revealed information about the Warning amid some tribulation. Here is the interview:

Q. On the two nights of screams (when the seers were given a vision of the future), you saw visions of the future conditional chastisement that would come to mankind if we do not change after the Warning and Miracle. Did you also see the Warning?

A. I prefer not to speak about that subject. The Blessed Virgin didn’t say we should speak about all the details of what was shown to us. I remember she said it was very important that we pray about all that.

Q. My question is whether you actually saw the Warning. I am not asking you to reveal things that you are not supposed to speak about but rather if you just actually saw it.

A. I can’t explain it very well. I remember that I was very afraid. It seemed as though it were both [seeing it and being told about it]. Also, everything got very dark. You can imagine how terrifying it was because we were still very much afraid even though we were seeing the Virgin at the same time.

Q. Did you see visions of the communist tribulation that is to precede the Warning?

A. I don’t know exactly. The Virgin said that we should pray much so that these things don’t come.

Q. Could you tell the difference between visions of the chastisement and visions of the Warning or tribulation?

A. Yes, we could tell the difference because the chastisement was a far more fearful thing.

Q. In a 1979 interview, you said in describing the communist tribulation that it was like an invasion. Did you see scenes of this invasion?

A. Sometimes I confuse an invasion with a persecution.

Q. Did you ever see anything that had to do with the Holy Father?

A. No, but the Virgin said that in the future he was going to be in need of much prayer.

Q. You have also said that when things were at their very worst then the Warning would happen. How do you know this? Did the Virgin tell you or did you see it in a vision?

A. The Virgin said that the Warning would come when conditions were at their worst. It wouldn’t be just the persecution either because many people will no longer be practicing their religion.
