Pangan: 2020: the year of entrepreneurship

WITH the encouragement and support from the nation’s leaders and industrialists plus the unwavering assistance from businessmen, led by Joey Concepcion, founder of GO Negosyo, it is expected that 2020 will become the banner year for such business activities.

With funders such as the Land Bank of the Philippines, the Development Bank of the Philippines, the Producers Bank and even the multi-lender the Asian Development Bank, there is no reason why entrepreneurship and the small-to-medium enterprises would prosper for 2020. All the funding support mechanisms are in place and are ready to be tapped by SMEs and other enterprises. Add to this are the various domestic and international franchises of well-known global brands ready to participate in this growing business endeavor.

The government has enhanced ease of doing business and in fact has passed a law to encourage potential investors to pour in funds.

The economic factors have also been encouraging to both domestic and foreign investors since the national government is predisposed to enact laws which would open doors to possible joint ventures and cooperative partnership, a situation not available before. So, businessmen, big or small, are most welcome to participate in the country with a growing business potentials and a strong economy. The growth forecasts by various agencies confirm the uptick in our economy.

We just hope that the tensions between the US and Iran (and its allies) would not reach breaking point and spur escalations toward a violent confrontation between these adversaries.

Both the US and Iran have the capability to maim and destroy and timely interventions should be made to soften the stance of these two ‘warring’ nations, otherwise, all the gains we’ve earned through the decades will be obliterated in the blink of an eye! God forbid that a world war ensues due to the brand misunderstanding between the US and Iran which boasts of a formidable nuclear weaponry just like the Americans.

She is gaining favorable points everytime President Duterte and his lapdogs slam the Vice President.
