Santo Tomas folks help Taal eruption victims

THE humanitarian mission of Kapampangans for victims of Taal volcano eruption carry on as another 1,000 families benefitted from the goods donated by the local government and residents of Sto. Tomas town.

Mayor Gloria “Ninang” Ronquillo and Councilor Anne Garcia personally led the relief operations in three evacuation centers in Batangas City on Friday, January 17.

The group, accompanied by Global Anti-Crime Police Auxiliary, distributed food packs, bottled waters, new and used clothes and vitamins for children and pregnant ladies who were displaced by the rumbling of Taal volcano.

The beneficiaries have been staying in different evacuation centers for almost a week now after the volcano showed unrest on Sunday, January 12.

Team Pampanga led by Governor Dennis Pineda has been assisting in the rescue, relief and clearing operations in the affected area since Monday.

Pineda said this is a way of paying back for the aid that the province got when it was devastated by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991.
