Shell refinery operations normal amid Taal eruption

NORMAL business operations continue at Pilipinas Shell’s Tabangao Refinery and across all businesses amid the eruption of Taal Volcano in Batangas as the company remains alert and cautiously monitors the situation.

The company said in a statement on Friday, Jan.17, 2020, that its staff and business partners in the refinery are safe and all accounted for.

While air quality has been assessed as “good” in the area of the refinery as of writing, the staff have been issued with appropriate face masks and safety glasses as a precautionary measure.

The Taal situation is being constantly monitored and business protocols are in place to respond to any potential change in circumstances.

Pilipinas Shell said it was providing disaster response support to the affected communities. (PR)
