No class suspension in Talisay, except for competing schools

TALISAY City, Cebu Mayor Gerald Anthony "Samsam" Gullas Jr. said there will be no suspension of classes on Monday, January 20, 2020, except for competing Sinulog schools.

He reached the decision after his initial talks with the Department of Education-Talisay City officials, who advised him not to suspend classes.

"With all the information in hand, classes will resume tomorrow (Monday) in all Talisay Schools except for Sinulog participating schools, the Talisay Central School and Talisay National High School," Gullas said.

The local executive posted his announcement on his Facebook page past 8 p.m. Sunday, January 19.

Gullas said he had conferred with Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and Lapu-Lapu City Junard "Ahong" Chan before he reached his decision.

Chan and Cortes said they also decided not to suspend classes Monday. (KAL)
