TWO persons were injured in separate stabbing incidents in Bacolod City over the weekend.
Police identified the victims as Ruel Distajo, 35, of Purok Tilapia, Barangay 3, and Jovy Villegas, 37, of Purok Katilingban, Barangay 40.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Destajo sustained multiple wounds when Ronald Filoteo, 28, of Barangay 3, attacked him using a broken bottle of beer at Purok Tilapia around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Investigation showed that Destajo, who was under the influence of intoxicating liquor, had a heated argument with Filoteo’s uncle. When the suspect saw that Destajo punched his uncle, he took a bottle of beer then broke it and stabbed the victim several times.
The victim was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) while the suspect was arrested in follow-up operation in Barangay 3.
Villegas also sustained multiple wounds when Rey Doria attacked him using a bladed weapon at Purok Katilingban around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Pico said a heated argument ensued between them when Doria took a bladed weapon and attacked the victim.
The victim was brought to the CLMMRH while the suspect fled.
Pico said the operatives of Police Station 6 are still conducting a follow-up operation to arrest the suspect. (MAP)
