Davraa Meet 2020 reset anew

NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro -- The Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2020, which was recently moved to March 22 to 28, was reset anew to a still undetermined date, an official of the province said Monday, January 20, in a press conference before Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy was set to deliver his State of the Province Address in Nabunturan.

Vice Governor Maricar Zamora, who is also the Davraa action officer, said they met with Department of Education (DepEd)-Davao officials and agreed on the March 22 to 28 schedule in Montevista.

But just recently, the province received a call from the Department of Health (DOH), one of the stakeholders of the Davraa, to again consider changing the dates because the ones they have recently agreed on are in conflict with the DOH's conduct of the massive polio immunization campaign.

She said since Davraa is not solely an activity of the province, they have to coordinate with other stakeholders and decide on the dates when all of them will be available for the meet.

"Rest assured that the meet will be held this month of March," Zamora said.

In a text interview with SunStar Davao, DOH Regional Director Annabelle Yumang said the provincial health office of Davao de Oro is the one directly involved in Davraa matters.

Davraa 2020 meet, a qualifier for Palarong Pambansa 2020, has been rescheduled thrice; first was on the last week of February, then on March 15 to 21, and then on March 22 to 28.
