IN 1981, the Sinulog started with physical education students in Cebu City with very few spectators.
On Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, the grand parade was participated in by 31 contingents from Cebu and other provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao.
The cultural event, which fell on the day of the fiesta in honor of the Sto. Niño, gathered two million people, police said.
Crowd favorites Sinanduloy Cultural Troupe of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental and Lumad Basakanon of Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City were declared the champions in the Sinulog-based and free interpretation categories, respectively. (KAL)
