THE 2020 edition of the annual Gullas Cup is set to tip off on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at the Talisay Sports Complex.
Six teams from the 1st District of Cebu will be competing in this basketball tournament. Four teams will be seeing action during opening day led by the reigning champions Talisay City Aquastars, which will be facing off against Carcar City in a rematch of the 2019 Gullas Cup finals. Minglanilla takes on City Naga in the opening game at 4 p.m.
Before the games start, Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. and Cebu 1st District Rep. Eduardo R. Gullas will look to inspire the athletes with their messages at 2 p.m.
Teams will play a single round-robin with the top four finishers at the end of the elimination round moving on to the knockout semifinals. The winners there will then compete in a best-of-three series for the Gullas Cup championship. (JNP)
