Six nabbed in ‘Lacion drug bust; P7M shabu recovered

SIX people, including two suspected drug pushers, were arrested while around a kilogram of illegal drugs was recovered in a buy-bust in Sitio Bangkerohan, Barangay Tayud, Consolacion town on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.

The recovered illegal drugs had an estimated market value of P7 million, said Police Maj. Verniño Noserale, Consolacion police chief.

During the operation, anti-drug operatives arrested Jo-ann Calinpon Sanchez, 42, a resident of Barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City; and her live-in partner, RJ Jazon Paulin Jerosalem, 28.

Aside from the two drug sellers, police also arrested Jonaly Bemtazal, 27, of Barangay Sun-ok, Cordova town; Jennifer Flores, 21; Baby Beldosola, 25; and Helen Cuevas, 52, residents of Barangay Lorega-San Miguel, Cebu City.

Noserale said they had monitored the two drug sellers’ movements for over a month.

He disclosed that Sanchez and her live-in partner were very careful when it came to selling their drugs and transacted only with their long-time customers.

Also, the two suspects never sold their drugs in small amounts.

“They only sell their drugs by five grams and above. If you buy less, they won’t sell,” Noserale said in Cebuano.

Noserale added that Sanchez and Jerosalem were considered provincial-level high-value targets. (BBT / JKV)
