THREE drug personalities were arrested in a drug bust conducted by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Tuesday morning, January 21.
Police identified the suspects as Norlan Majometano, 31, Jay Majometano, 49, and Jerome Malan, 42, all residents of Barangay Banago.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said the suspects were arrested by the CDUE operatives led by Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 7 a.m.
Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 12 sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P120,000, the P1,000 marked money, cellular phone and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
After the operation, Espenido also held a dialogue with the residents of Barangay Banago.
Espenido earlier warned the drug groups in Bacolod City and Western Visayas that if they will not cooperate, expect a bloody operation against illegal drugs in February.
“They are welcome to my office. We can talk with their companions. They are 101 percent safe here. But if they will not cooperate within this month, expect a bloody operation in February. We will operate them,” Espenido said.
He said in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, there were about six drug groups who are now being closely monitored by the police.
Police identified these drug groups as Ramos Drug Group, Divinagracia Drug Group, Bacus Drug Group, Burgos Drug Group, Macundato Drug Group, and Vetusio Drug Group.
