ANOTHER product of Mayor Oscar Moreno’s amateur boxing development program is now carving a name in professional boxing world.

This, after Daniel Maamo recently won the flyweight crown of the Mindanao Professional Boxing Federation (MPBF) in a boxing championship held at Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City.

Maamo successfully wrested the MPBF belt after winning a unanimous decision over Jenuel Lausa of Zamboanga del Sur.

In a recent courtesy visit, Mayor Moreno lauded Maamo’s sterling performance, hoping that the victory will inspire “our young boxing enthusiasts to aspire for success in their careers.”

Maamo, who hails from Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, was a product of the amateur boxing development program when Mayor Moreno was still Governor of the Province of Misamis Oriental. (Ian Fuentes)
