Team FCB rules Lanao del Norte Wilson 3x3 tourney

A TOTAL of 30 teams from Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental have joined the Lanao del Norte leg of the Wilson 3x3 basketball tournament held last Jan.18-19 at the Magoong covered court in Linamon town, Lanao del Norte, some 104.3 kilometers from Cagayan De Oro City.

Team FCB won the 22-under boys title after a 16-6 rout of Team Tubod in the championship behind the productive showing of Harold Rene Suarez, Clyde Vincent Gabo, Rhaen Soria and Marc Chris Bancal.

In the 19-under boys division, Team Samorin bested Team Maagong, 19-10 for the crown. While Team Asenso Iliganon edged Team Mavs, 8-6 to win the 17-under boys trophy.

Team Relentless defeated Oroquieta City, 11-7 to bring home the 15-under boys diadem.

Members of Team Samorin are Kenneth Samorin, Earl Laniton, Marc Leo Lim, and Ern Vincent Neri while Team Asenso Iliganon are made up of Jericho Gabaya, Riggs Sasuman, Paolo Aedrian Villabona, and Niejel Clive Penafiel.

Composing Team Relentless are Ramil Cane, John Benedict Lauren,

Abdul Khaliq Macaraya, and Gian Paolo Anoba.

The tournament was organized by Mindanao coordinator James Racines and Lanao del Norte organiser Dehron Lariosa and co-sponsored by Chooks-To-Go, Minute Burger and AQ Support.

Linamon town councilor Randy ‘Kinpee’ Macapil III and Wilson 3x3 Philippines Brand Manager Errol Elicanal gave out the trophies, medals and gift packs to the winners during the awarding ceremony.

The tournament was for players 22 Under (Born 1997), 19 Under (Born 2000), 17 Under (Born 2002, and 15 Under (Born 2004).

All the winners will march to the National finals set in Manila on May 16-17 in Manila. Official venue will be announced later.

Meanwhile Racines announced that the registration for the Agusan del Sur, Panabo City and Davao City legs are now going on. The Agusan del Sur leg is set on Feb. 15-16 in Bah-bah, Poblacion court in Prosperidad, while the Panabo City, Davao del Norte and the Davao City legs are set on February 8 to 9. Early registrants are now welcome.
