3 drug suspects in Iponan yield P1M worth of ‘shabu’

ANTI-NARCOTICS agents in Northern Mindanao arrested three drug suspects and seized more than P1 million worth of suspected “shabu” in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Iponan Village, Cagayan de Oro City on Tuesday, January 21.

Suspects were identified as Randy Arengo, 36; Jefferson Vallejos, 36; both residents of Zone 3; and Ibrahim Ramos, 28, resident of Pantar, Lanao del Norte.

Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Northern Mindanao arrested Arengo and Vallejos in a drug bust around 3:20 p.m. and confiscated 11 sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

Meanwhile, PDEA-Northern Mindanao agents nabbed Ramos in a follow-up operation in Kinasanghan, Iponan around 8:30 p.m and seized nearly P700,000 worth of shabu.

Authorities said Arengo was tested positive for use of shabu and marijuana while Vallejos and Ramos were tested positive for shabu use.

The suspects are now detained and will face appropriate charges for possession of illegal drugs.
