Si Labella nagkanayon nga alas 8:30 karong buntag, Enero 23, iyang pakigkitaan si Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas didto sa Kapitolyo uban ni Harold Alcontin, pangulo sa Local Disaster Office sa siyudad sa Sugbo.
“We have to find out what kind of help we can extend to avoid wastage of public funds. Because if we just give without determining first what kind of assistance and how much assistance we could provide, we might be just wasting the resources of the City,” padayag ni Labella.
Bisan kon walay nakalas gumikan sa dili tiaw nga pagbuga og abo sa maong bulkan, apan apektado ang ilang panginabuhian labi na sa 14 ka mga lungsod ug siyudad sa Batangas kinsa maoy grabeng naapektohan.
“In behalf of the people of the City of Cebu, we extend our sympathies to the Province of Batangas especially the areas affected by the spewing of ash of Taal Volcano even though there was no casualties but it has affected the economic activity of the Province,” matod ni Labella.
