TANS Bernas emerged champion in the Datba Weekly Tournament held Tuesday evening, January 21, at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center.
Bernas, who has a handicap of 24, rolled a total of 618 pins after three games to pocket the P800 top cash prize in the 14-player tournament that serves as qualifying for the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) monthly finals.
He rolled past Mike Aquiatan and Erwin Tongco who settled for second and third, respectively. Aquiatan, with 30 handicap, garnered 618 pinfalls while Tongco made 609 pinfalls to go home with P400 and P200.
The weekly qualifying drew 14 pintopplers.
A similar tournament is set on Saturday. (MLSA)
