Picpa hosts one-day congress

THE Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Picpa) is hosting the Picpa Non-Government Organization (NGO) Congress on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

This event is open to those currently registered NGOs or those planning to register as an NGO. Certified public accountants who will participate in the event will be entitled to eight Continuing Professional Development units under competence area A.

The NGO Congress is designed to continually develop the NGOs in their financial and regulatory compliance to ensure their sustainability and longevity by properly preparing their programs in line with their objectives to which their exemptions and certification have been issued.

This seminar will also update all participants on regulatory compliance concerning the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Speakers

The pool of esteemed speakers is composed of Luis Morales, executive director of PCNC; Cynthia Ilano of the DSWD; Celia King, deputy commissioner of the BIR; Ma. Gracia Diaz of KPMG Philippines; Carmen Linda Atayde of the SM Foundation; Veronica Gabaldon, executive director of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation; and Rhodora Icaranom of the RGI Accounting and Auditing.
