Police nab 2 in anti-drug operations

POLICE anti-drug operatives have arrested two street-level target drug personalities in separate drug busts in the region, an official said Thursday, January 23.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Ryan Jay Labiano, 21, and Elvin Musa, 34.

Galvez said Labiano was arrested in a drug bust around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Purok Pag Asa in Poblacion Village, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

She added that seized from Labiano were some P2,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), a cellular phone, a motorcycle, and P400 marked money.

Galvez said Musa, a drug surrenderer, was arrested around 10 p.m. Wednesday in Tulungatung Village, Zamboanga City. Seized from him were some P3,200 worth of suspected shabu packed in seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

She said the arrested suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
