University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers Aldin Ayo will be on the lookout for high-character players when he oversees the tryouts at the City Sports Club-Cebu on Saturday, January 25, 2020.

UST, the UAAP Season 82 runners-up, is looking to infuse its loaded roster with some more talent from down south. Thus, Ayo himself will be conducting the tryouts on Saturday, which begins at 7 a.m. and will last until 10 in the morning. Another session will be held at 3 p.m.

Ayo said that while they always appreciate skilled players, high-character players will be prioritized.

“Of course, talent and skills. But more than those traits, we prioritize character,” answered Ayo when asked what he will be looking for come the tryouts this weekend.

Joining him in taking look at the players is UST’s Cebuano strength and conditioning coach, Joph Cleopas.

UST currently has a couple of former Cesafi standouts in their fold. Former University of San Jose-Recoletos center Dave Ando is on the collegiate team while ex-University of Southern Philippines Foundation forward Rojan Montemayor is playing for the high school squad. (JNP)
