Abanse Negrense sports clinic unfolds today

AIMED at bringing Olympic sports at the doorsteps of Negrense athletes and coaches, the Abanse Negrense Sports Clinic unfolds today at San Carlos City and will run until Sunday, January 26.

In fulfillment of Gov. Bong Lacson’s promise to bring the sports program across the Negros Island, this sports clinic will kick off in the 1st District and will benefit those localities in the Northern Negros like the towns of Toboso, Calatrava, Salvador Benedicto, and the cities of Escalante and San Carlos.

Further, in order to deliver the best sports program for the Negrenses, the province has tapped among the country’s top coaches to spearhead the conduct of clinics for 9 priority sports events.

These multi-titled coaches include Elvis Atinado (basketball), Bea Tan (volleyball), Tessie Onque (swimming), Vic Feria (taekwondo), Dante Albao (chess), Manuel de Oro (athletics), Aden Nietes (boxing), John Carmona (football/futsal) and Antonio Oquindo Jr. (softball).

Alongside these coaches are several medalled athletes who will help in the conduct of the undertakings.

Overseeing the conduct of the 2-day event is Executive Assistant and Provincial Sports Coordinator Anthony Carlo Agustin.
