Lacson administration continues to take shape with new appointments

IN WHAT is shaping up to be a considerable change, several Capitol executives are on the move including Merle Garcia who will replace Elena Serenias as head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson revealed that Serenias has availed the early retirement to attend to a personal business and Garcia has been the officer-in-charge.

Lacson also revealed that Jennylind Cordero of the Provincial Tourism Office is the executive director of this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival which will be held on April.

The governor also confirmed that lawyer Gideoni Valencia, dean of the School of Nursing of Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (Nonescost) in Cadiz City, has resigned after his promotion as a trial court judge.

Nonescost president Romulo Sisno will also end his term this year and the Board of Trustees of the school run and managed by the provincial government will choose a new president.

Moreover, former Silay City councilor Marie June Castro has joined the Lacson’s administration as executive assistant for Women and Gender and Development Program.

Meanwhile, Christine Manzanares, provincial tourism officer of Negros Occidental is up for promotion.

Reports have it that Manzanares is up to fill in a vacancy in a division at the Regional Tourism Office of Western Visayas.

Manzanares was former Tourism Officer of Sipalay City prior to her stint as Provincial Tourism Officer during the administration of former Governor Alfredo Maranon.
