THE 2020 Titans Run: Festival of Colors hopes to encourage students and Cebuanos to start running and pick up a healthy lifestyle.

Organized by the student body organization and parents of Paref Springdale, the run will take center stage on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020, at the Ayala Center Cebu Terraces with 2,000 projected participants.

One of the organizers, TJ Mayol, who’s into triathlon and running, said the fourth edition of the run features a color festival. This is done to continue the festivity of the Sinulog Festival.

“Right now we have more than 1,200 registrants and we’re expecting to reach 2,000 on race day,” Mayol said on Friday.

“One of the goals is to encourage the kids to get into sports. We hope they will continue with running after this event. It’s going to be a fun activity since we’re going to have a Color Festival theme,” he said.

The run is open to all participants and will dangle a total of P18,000 in cash prizes. The run has the 10-kilometer, 6K, 3K, 3K Dad & Son and 1K categories. All the finishers will each get a medal.

Race director Joel Juarez said it’s the first time that the route will cover the streets of Metro Cebu. The previous editions were just within the premises of the Cebu Business Park.

The fun run is a joint project of the Parents of Springdale (Grade 3 Students) and the Paref Springdale Student Body Organization for the structural development of the school and the National High School in Patupat, Barili. (RSC)
