ANGELES City Government, under the initiative of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., will prioritize dental health care to avoid common oral diseases from spreading.

According to the mayor, a dental clinic with an animal bite treatment center and minor surgery clinic will soon be available to Angeleños for free.

Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel inspected the ongoing repair and set-up of the said three-in-one center, where a dental chair was already installed on Thursday, January 23.

“All services from this center will be free of charge. Alam naman din po natin na kaya rin ayaw nagpupunta ng iba sa mga dental clinic dahil inaalala nila ang kanilang pambayad. Sa ganitong paraan, matutulungan natin ang indigent families na mas bigyan pa nila ng pansin ang pag-aalaga sa kanilang mga ngipin,” he said.

(All services from this center will be free of charge. We also know that they do not go to dental clinics because of the fees. In this way, we can help indigent families to give attention to dental care.)

For Manuel, oral healthcare is mostly a concern for indigent families due to bad oral hygiene and lack of proper dental care that is why she is urging Angeleños to regularly visit the upcoming center, once it will be inaugurated in February.

“Do not just visit when something feels wrong, or you’re in pain. This is for all, may them be children or adults. Seek dentist consultation here to avoid any dental problems in the future. Especially for our children, para maiwasan din na magkaproblema pa siya sa school performance niya,” she said.

“This is one of the priority programs of Mayor Pogi,” she said, adding that “He is pushing for medical care to be readily available to poor and marginalized Angeleños to monitor health problems and ensure their safety.”

Meanwhile, it can be recalled that it was during the stint of former Angeles City Mayor and First District Representative Carmelo Lazatin when health services in the city became more affordable and an accessible dental clinic inside the city hall was established. Medicines in health centers and dispensary clinic in the city hall were made readily available as well. (PR)
