I DO admire the government’s decision to expedite the cancellation of the Visiting Forces Agreement, although it may the wrong motivations.
The move will somehow clear us of yet another legacy of US intervention in our country. For so many years, the US military presence has been proof that our country had not yet been weaned from its clutches.
However, my fear is that when government had kicked out the US, it would invite China to take over. This is just a case of serial enslavement, submitting ourselves to another imperialist after breaking free from the old one.
