Man survives Kibawe hacking attacks

A 58-YEAR-OLD man survived after he was hacked twice in Kibawe, Bukidnon over the weekend.

The victim identified as Edgar Ganapin, resident of Purok-6, West Kibawe, was sitting on the trunk of a tree when he was attacked by the suspect identified as Alfredo Ganapin, 49, allegedly without apparent reason.

Police said the victim sustained wound on his neck.

Investigators added the victim ran towards a rice field for safety but he was chased by the suspect and caught.

He was hacked again using a bolo and was hit on his left hand and right portion of his face.

Neighbors tried to pacify the incident and brought the victim to the hospital.

The suspect was arrested in a hot pursuit operation while motive is being determined.
