Lin-ay Sang Negros 2010 bets presented

TWENTY Negrense beauties vying for the Lin-ay Sang Negros 2010 title were presented Wednesday at the Event Center of SM Mall-Bacolod.

The Lin-ay Sang Negros started in 1994 as a beauty contest to provide one highlight of the Pana-ad Festival, which provides Negrense women the venue to express their opinions, talents, and intelligence.

The candidates are Christine Daphne G. Villanueva representing Bacolod City; Khia Marie V. Gicaro, Bago City; Anastacia J. Concepcion, Binalbagan; Phoebe Corinne Ramsey Pataytay, Calatrava; Cherrie Mae G. Adalim, Cauayan; Abegail H. Amarillo, Escalante City; Rachel G. Arriola, E.B. Magalona; Lyrine Bayle Ortiz, Himamaylan City; Catherine P. Hilario, Hinigaran; Mio E. Flores, Hinoba-an; Shamy Amour T. Talatala, Ilog; Princess Diana Mindermann, Isabela; Rhea Joy Florentino, Kabankalan City; Shara Shane Rubejes, La Carlota City; April Joy A. Recopuerto, Murcia; Shari Ann L. Albay, Sagay City; Ruth Angely P. Tan, San Enrique; Kareen R. Ty, Silay City; Rubi–Ann G. Ponclara, Talisay City; and Ruffnee C. Reala, Victorias City.

After an interview with the candidates, the local press have chosen Flores of Hinoba-an as the Media Muse and was awarded with P5,000 worth of gift certificate from SM-Bacolod.

When asked about her edge among other contestants Flores said, “I can converse well because of my quick wit.”

Meanwhile, Ian De Ramos, who chairs this year’s beauty search, announced that the photogenic contest and parade of festival costume will be on March 21.

The coronation night is on March 26, 7 p.m., at the Pana-ad Park Stadium, in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Marlin Sanogal, executive director Panaad Sa Negros 2010, Provincial Information Officer Karen Dinsay and her staff were also present Wednesday, among others. (George M. De La Cruz)
