P30,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay Alijis

AN ESTIMATED P30,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 7 at Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision, Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City Sunday afternoon, January 26.

The operation led to the arrest of Johnny Ape, 49, of Barangay Alijis.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Monday that Ape was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover around 2:50 p.m.

Police recovered from Ape’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu, the P300 marked money, and coin purse.

Pico said Ape was identified as high-value target in Bacolod City and was surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9265 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
