The Vipers and the Rams claimed victories in the Elite Basketball Club Cebu Season 17 after they nipped their opponents at the Visayan Glass gym in Guadalupe last Sunday, January 26, 2020.
The Vipers edged the Kois, 80-77, in overtime, while the Rams bested the Bulldogs, 80-75.
The Vipers were led by a pair of former Cesafi standouts in ex-University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panther Mark Tenebroso and former University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars wingman Miguel Gastador who scored 24 and 20 points, respectively. Tenebroso added 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Kois got 29 points from Jose Acha and 13 from Harmsway Molina.
Meanwhile, the Rams got 34 points and 11 rebounds to go with five assists and two steals from another former Panthers standout in Jawein Ceniza. Vince Ranile and Oliver Sanoy added 14 and 12 points, respectively for the Rams.
The Bulldogs got production from the likes of John Rodrigo who had 17 points and Bryan Gumampong who added 15. (JNP)
