Police nab 2 in law enforcement operation

A DRUG surrenderer and a newly-identified drug personality were arrested in separate law enforcement operations in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said Tuesday, January 28.

The Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office identified the arrested suspects as Andy Doliente, 33, and Marjun Bucog, 30.

The police said that Doliente, a drug surrenderer, was arrested after being served a search warrant around 6 p.m. Monday at Purok Saging in Sicade Village, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

The police said that recovered from Doliente, who is in the drug watchlist, were a sling bag containing some P3,500 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and a caliber .22 pistol with three live ammunitions and one empty shell.

Bucog was arrested in a drug bust at 1:15 a.m. Monday at Purok Gumamela in Kagawasan Village, Pagadian City, according to the police.

Recovered from Bucog were some P9,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 18 heat-sealed plastic sachets, P500 marked money, and a cellular phone.

The police said appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
