GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson issued Tuesday, January 28, a marching order to the police chiefs of various towns and cities in the province to improve their police visibility in order to secure the community in their respective areas.
Lacson held a New Year’s call with police chiefs under the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) yTuesday morning at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall.
He also told the police chiefs to promote the use of close-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in their respective localities to improve their crime deterrence.
Lacson also commended the entire Nocppo police force for a job well done in 2019, and encouraged them to continue on President Rodrigo Duterte’s marching order in eliminating illegal drugs and corruption.
“I did not set any targets for them, because they themselves have their own targets,” Lacson said.
He further stated NOCPPO director, Police Colonel Romeo Baleros also presented their accomplishments to him and he recognized that they did very well.
Lacson added that he is satisfied with Nocppo’s current performance.
“Even Baleros said there is always a room for improvement,” he said.
With Baleros due to retire in June this year, Lacson said the Philippine National Police should start looking for a replacement around in approximately two months.
