P2-B Misamis Oriental road project approved

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has announced that the P2-billion budget for road concreting projects in the western part of the province has already been approved by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar.

In the Capitol's press briefer, the Provincial Government said the Misamis Oriental West Diversion Road (Mowdir) project will benefit residents of Cagayan de Oro and municipalities of Opol, Laguindingan, Alubijid toward Lugait, especially the farmers.

Emano said the project will address traffic problem in Cagayan de Oro, since it will serve as diversion road for motorists traveling the western portion of the province.

"Kalooy sa Diyos sa atubangan ni Engr. Jun Balo, nakaatubang ta kang Sec. Villar and I have to tell our people, especially Opol to Lugait area, nga nag-commit na si Sec. Villar nga iyang matabangan ta pagsemento anang Mowdir. Initially, P2 billion ang iyang ihatag," Emano said.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Government has turned over plastic armchairs for public schools in Opol and Medina towns.

The armchairs made of recycled plastic materials from the different towns in the province were manufactured through the Villar Sipag Foundation.

The "plastic waste to armchair project" aims to reduce plastic wastes and turned them into something useful for children in schools.

"Didto sa Medina, ang mga cellophane, mga plastic among bayloan og bugas, sabon, ug uban pa, aron ma-encourage ang mga lungsoranon nga mag segregate," Medina Vice Mayor Kim Michael Odchigue said.
