EMBATTLED PBA D League star Eliud Poligrates gets a major break after the court junked the Violence Against Women and Children complaint filed by his ex-girlfriend Lucille Allosada Trazona.

Poligrates was nabbed by police and spent three nights in jail after Trazona accused him of hurting her during an altercation in the parking lot of a convenience store on Jan. 13, 2020.

Just over two weeks later, Trazona has changed her tune and signed an affidavit attesting that the basketball player never laid a hand on her.

“That I further attest that during the incident described above, we only had verbal argument and that there was no physical altercation between me and Eliud G. Poligrates and that I incurrred no physical injuries in relation to the incident,” she said in her affidavit.

Poligrates visited the SunStar Cebu newsroom to show a copy of the affidavit.

He said he feel elated over the development as it means he can now play with Marinerong Pilipino in the D League. He said that after getting released from jail, he approached the team but management refused to accept him as they don’t want their image to be tarnished.

The former Southwestern University star will leave for Manila on Jan. 30 and will join the practice of Marinerong Pilipino, which is preparing for its D-League campaign on Feb. 12.

Poligrates made history in the D-League after scoring 67 points against iWalk Chargers on Aug. 26, 2019. (ESL)
