A MAN was arrested in an entrapment in Cebu City last Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, for allegedly trying to blackmail his male foreigner lover who operates a resort in Santa Fe town, Bantayan Island.

Operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) 7 arrested Jessy (not his real name), a resident of Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

Police Staff Sgt. Jonelle Jay Ocariza, RACU 7 investigator, told Superbalita Cebu that Dave (real name withheld), a British national, went to their office after reportedly receiving threats from Jessy.

Dave alleged that Jessy threatened to upload on social media the lewd photos and videos of their intimate moments together should he decide to ignore the latter’s demand for money.

In a separate interview, Jessy admitted to asking P5,000 from his lover.

He said he was planning to use the money for treatment after reportedly contracting a venereal disease.

Jessy said Dave’s refusal to give him money prompted him to send copies of their lewd photos and videos to the British man’s apartment landlord.

Prior to the entrapment operation, Jessy had confronted Dave after finding out about the sexually transmitted disease (STD) he recently caught.

Jessy claimed that while they were in an open relationship and have been sexually active with other partners, Dave was the last person he had been intimate with.

“I have two other foreigner boyfriends and he (Dave) is my secret lover. We have been in a relationship for two years and I was very mad when I found out he has STD,” Jessy said in Cebuano.

He denied accusations that he extorted P15,000 from Dave after their heated confrontation.

Jessy said he eventually agreed to meet Dave after the latter sent him a chat message asking that they settle their issue before he leaves for the United Kingdom.

Jessy received cash from Dave when the two met in a coffee shop on General Maxilom Ave., Cebu City last Saturday.

But before he could leave, Jessy was arrested by RACU operatives.

Ocariza said criminal complaints will be readied against Jessy for violating Article 282 (for grave threats) of the Revised Penal Code, Republic Act 995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act in relation to Section 6 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012. (GPL, RTF)
