P300,000 worth of shabu seized in drug bust

SOME P340,000 worth of shabu was confiscated by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon and Angeles City Police Office Station 4 in a drug bust in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City on January 30.

PDEA-Central Luzon Director Lyndon Aspacio, in a report submitted to PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino, identified the suspect as Renato G. David Jr., 37, a resident of 2283 Hadrian St., Barangay Balibago.

Seized from David were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 50 grams, one unit digital weighing scale and the buy-bust money.

"The drug sting was consummated at 12:30 p.m. when the suspect handed over the illegal substances to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur buyer. The suspect did not resist arrest when collared by our agents," Aspacio said.

The pieces of evidence will be turned over to the PDEA-Central Luzon laboratory for quantitative and qualitative examinations.

The suspect is now detained at the PDEA Jail facility in Diosdado Macapagal Government Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Violation of section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be charged against the suspect.
